I live in Az, being hot in summer is a given....can be between 220-240 when stopped at light. Do all vettes just run hot normally? I'm thinking they do....thoughts?? (has new coolant system and antifreeze) Thanks. Sherry
1st clean out the space between the radiator and AC condensor as well as the front of the radiator...you have to get under there and look...it is amazing how much stuff accumulates
2nd...if you just changed the coolant make sure all the air is out of the system.
3. make sure your fans are both operating...the high speed fan should come on at a preset temp...you can check that it works by turning on your AC as it comes on no matter what with the AC
Hi i am a woman who takes the car in for service....Can I get under there and clean out the area between the radiator and condenser without the car being lifted, Or can I try and crawl under there?? Second, the Chevy dealer did the coolant system. I'm assuming they have all air out of system. I can always take it back. Someone told
Me once that the vettes just run hot. So I accepted that. It's getting 115 here so really hot on engines.

You won't be able to crawl under there to clean it out. The car is just too low to the ground. You may be able to do it from the top, but I have never tried it. You can also go out and purchase a set of Rhino ramps from Walmart and just drive the car up on the ramps to take a look. They are not very expensive. If you post up your location, a local member may even be able to loan you a set or help out.
Corvettes do run pretty hot by default and 220 is common as the high speed fans don't come on until 230 IIRC. When it gets that hot, is the temperature staying there or does it keep going up?
