C5 with an intermittent clunk
Just moved up from a 1990 C4 to a 1998 C5 and what a difference. The only problem is an intermittent "clunk" that I think is coming from the passenger side front whenever i go over moderate bumps. Sounds similar to a broken strut support I remember from another car. I brought the car to my mechanic who had it on a lift, checked it all over carefully, but everything is tight and nothing appears wrong or broken. Hard to create going over a bump on the lift. We're stumped. Car has never been in any serious accident and has only 46k miles. Any suggestions on what might be the problem or what to try would be appreciated.

the old stock rubber end links go bad and can cause a clunk when you go over bumps or intermittently on a turn radius... the fact that yours is only doing it on bumps means that its probably just a touch under torque spec.
Metal end links $80 $100 bucks and are kinda an important maintenance upgrade, its also a very easy DIY with basic tools
