Help- Need suggestions for mods :)
Hello everyone,
I just got my '01 mag red vert last weekend, and I'm looking for suggestions on performance mods. (Sheesh... I couldn't even make it two weeks before the mod bug bit... :lol: )
Right now the car is completely stock, and I'm looking to spend around $1000-$2000. But NO Nitrous! I want to wait until the warranty is up before I think about hooking up the juice. :D
With that said, what are some ideas for mods that will fit into my price range? I had a Blackwing on my '97 which gave noticable HP gains (and better 1/4mi times) but I've heard that the stock airboxes on 2001's are already pretty good.
Headers? Cam? Vortex/Blackwing + MAF??? Exhaust?? Suggestions please.
I live at 5000ft above sea level, so I'm already at a disadvantage. :rolleyes:

Forgot to mention the car is an A4 with 3.15's.

Since you're an auto, look into a torque converter-- Instead of that, you could also put headers on the car--but I don't thing you'd feel that as much as a TC-- look into that first :yesnod:
And an aftermarket intake, (about any of which will be 10X better than ANY factory airbox will ever be---)
Keep your eye on the VaraRam-- look around, you'll see it mentioned in a few threads if you look-- I've busted their *****, but I suspect they might be on to an excellent design--claiming a 3.5 tenth reduction in 1/4 mile time... wait for their results before you consider them, though... we'll see...
