Most , if not all, will tell you to take it to a pro., otherwise read the directions that come with the top for installation and let us know how it works out.I know this does not help you a bit, but thats probably all you are going to get from what I have seen on the forum.
take it to a shop. it is a difficult job for an amature. you dont want to damage the top or weatherstrips. save yourself lots of grief.............some jobs are best left to pros and this is one of them...good luck either way.

My son and I replaced the convertible top on his '86 LeBaron a few years ago. I can tell you from experience that the instructions, that came with the new top, would probably be better for toilet paper! They were very generic, and showed nothing specific to our project car. After a lot of trial and error, and I mean A LOT, we got it looking real nice.
We both concluded thinking that, with this experience, we could replace the top on my C5 when the time comes. There's really no "magic" to it.
I was looking at directions online for some of the tops, and they looked very specific, but that being said, I am sure that does not apply to all cars.

NO magic, a staple gun and time is what's needed. If you take your time on removal of the old top you can figure out how it goes on. It's the adjustment of the top to fit tight and seal without leaking is where the "magic" happens.
