Thanks Dale

Re: spark plug thread and pitch ??? (DALE C)
Don't know the thread pitch numbers, but there are specific taps out there made just for spark plugs. Check with your favorite parts house or maybe Sears, Snap-On, or the Mac Tool guy.
Got a question. Was your engine completely cold when you removed the plug the first time? Did you take a good look at your old #4 plug? Was there aluminum in the threads? A plug that won't tighten is not a good sign.
Hope your not looking a having to have head pulled and the spark plug thread Heli-Coiled. Let us know how it comes out.
Yes the engine was cold . The threads look good on the old plugs but they were very tight when they came out I just put them in about 1- 8th to 1quater past snug. I already tried sears. I will try Napa tomorrow.
Thanks Dale
Thanks for the help guys. I just put some pipe tape on the plug ran it in and it gabed then I ran it back out removed the tape and tightened it back down. It seems to be fine now but gave me a good scare. The car is on the trailer now and ready to go racing in the morning
