Took my 01 C5 out for a drive Sunday. Great run, no issues, parked it in the garage that night. Went to move it Monday night and the car was completely dead. No lights, no cranking, no sound. It's like a master switch was turned off.

The battery is 8 years old but hasn't had an problems. 24 hours on a trickle charge couldn't get even a dim glow. Any suggestions?

I would probably take the battery to an auto parts store and have it tested. Easy way to troubleshoot that part of and its a rather quick thing to eliminate in case that IS NOT your problem.

I agree. Time for a new battery. Getting 8 years out of a battery on a C5 is a great achievement in itself. These cars are hard on batteries. For the next battery, you should keep it on a trickle charger (CTEK) when you know the car will sit for a couple of days.

I would also suspect that the battery, especially at that age, has finally given up.

You're right, I didn't realize how old that battery is. It's a Costco 100 month battery that was on the car for 3 years when I bought it in 2007. If you're looking for longevity in a reasonably priced battery I guess this is it. Time flies when you're having fun! Thanks everyone.
