Exactly how much fluid is needed to refill after dropping the pan ?? How much if you just pull the plug and refill ? I'm doing a full service, then I wanna drain and refill couple of times.
I dropped the pan and it took about 2 1/2 quarts to fill up to the drain plug.
Then almost another 2 quarts to fill it up with the engine running. I did spill a little.
I heard it takes 10-12 quarts to do a full flush.
Aces. RedLand is right. You need to find someone who can power flush the transmission to get all the old fluid out. This will be much more effective than draining/filling multiple times.

You may be correct but , I'd rather spend the $99.00 on more fluid than labor. $ 99.00 is the going rate for a flush and the thought of a kid useing non snap-on wrenches on my car scares me.
I've yet to do my vette but used a Jiffy Lube for a power flush on my last car. Jiffy Lube is not my first choice for the vette but if I have to, I plan to talk with the manager first to insure they have an experienced person do the work. Then I will watch over their shoulder. In the meantime I am looking for a good shop that can do this. Anderson's Chev in Menlo does not do power flushes. Will ask other locals for recommendations. Still have
about 10K miles before I plan to do this.
