I'm glad you know what I'm installing, since I'm the one doing it, and not you. but then again, what should I expect from a guy who gets rid of a beautiful C5 and gets a Viper...
I'm installing FOG LIGHTS, not HEAD LAMPS. If anyone has done this, please email me on how you made the connection from the factory wiring
to the new lamp. Thanks,
Greg

p.s. Diablo, you know I was just messing with you. :p:
You are not installing fog lights but euro lights. Talk to EHS he installed the euros. You can find him on the other forum.

I'm here and well get this resolved as quickly as possible.
Thank you for your suggestion.

OK, I'm here. Had work today (still do, actually). Sit tight. I've already e-mailed George Cooper, who has done this install recently, and I'm sure he will get back here in this thread -- he's a good guy and very knowledgable.
I've also called Bob Wendorff at Fichtner Chevrolet to see what he sent you -- but he doesn't recall sending a set of Euro fogs to Silver Springs, MD recently.
So, please tell me exactly what you received, especially what the plugs look like, as in how many connectors. I will check my shop manual tonight depending on what you tell me -- if there's a problem.
Also, how far along in the process are you?
Relax -- well get this straightened out. :smash:

This should be very easy. You have the correct part numbers for the export foglights. This is a single assembly for each, each of which installs with a single bolt. I did it from below using the instructions in the shop manual. I would very strongly discourage you from changing anything about this assembly, including the bulbs. The H3 bulb in the export fog is much brighter than the domestic version, and it puts out all of the light you will need without overdrawing the current capacity of the stock wiring and switch contacts. Adjustment of height after the install is necessary but very easy - again, just follow the shop manual. If there is any issue about the export unit not plugging into the stock harness in terms of plug type, I am sure that Bob at Fitchner will send you what you need. I simply don't remember if I had an issue with that or not, but if I did I am certain that I resolved it in that way. If you have any sustained interest in working on this car and don't have a shop manual, get one from Fitchner. This car ought to come with one on request as a purchase option. But if you can't put your hands on one, let me know, and send me a fax number so that I can try to help you with the pertinent pages.
Thank you!
At some point, I will head home tonight to the shop manuals -- all three volumes -- depending on what I hear from Greg. Like you I remember it as plug-and-play, not "pray." Worst case, it may be a three wire rewire of the H3 connector.
Again, thanks for helping out here. :smash:
This will all depend on the type of plug he has. Should not be that hard to resolve.
Just sitting here waiting for Greg to call.
