Default B&B Route 66 w/ headers Q

Anybody have Route 66 exhaust w/ no cats and headers? Is it obnoxious? I currently have Borla XR1 w cats, have headers w/ ORX to install. Borla's won't work w/o cutting x pipe up, plus I figured they would be too loud, since the muffler is so small. Thought the B&B's might be a good option

Route 66 are only slightly louder than stock. Headers will add a little sound so it will be far from obnoxious in my opinion anyway. Let me know if you decide to order some and I can get you taken care of.

Any other suggestions? Are the bullets alot louder. I don't mind loud, just don't want something that gets on your nerves. The XR1's are a little loud, low and smooth. I would rather have more of a growl.

The bullets are way way way louder than route 66 and will definitely be obnoxious with headers and no cats.

I've got the Route 66 with Kooks headers. It's not obnoxious at all...it sounds amazing. I get ALOT of compliments on how awesome it sounds.

But don't expect to be "quiet" just because you went with the Route 66. My vette is still very loud....like wake up the neighborhood at 6 AM loud.

I have LG longtube pro's with catless x pipe and B&B route 66.

I like it. It is not obnoxious, but is definitely louder than stock. I don't know about waking the neighbors though. If I behave it isn't too bad.

The tone is a little different from other systems. It seems to have a little rasp instead of just a deep tone. I notice it especially when I shift and the rpms drop quickly. I got used to it and actually kind of like it. It sounds like the car has been modified, not just a loud muffler.

I also have had compliments on the sound.

Exhaust sound is so subjective. I'm sure there are plenty of people that would say my exhaust is obnoxious. There are also many people that say it sounds badass but not too loud.

In my opinion, you just need to buy what you are considering, put it on the car, and hear what you hear. If you don't like it, sell it and get something else.

I agree that it is so subjective and there is no better way to judge than to hear it.

However, I think it can get pretty expensive to buy it to try it out. Maybe another way is to see what people have at clubs or events and ask to hear it. For example at Funfest in a couple of weeks or at a local corvette club.

Good luck with your choice.

It is very subjective, I like to hear it, just don't want a glasspack-like rasp, or head pounding deep tone. Sounds like the 66 might be the way to go. I missed the Corvette show in my area, was hoping to hear a few different systems.

I have long tubes, xpipe and no cats with many mods. B&B's are loud but not obnoxious
and the bullets are way louder. I receive many compliments on how heathy the car sounds.

There is some drone between 1400 & 1700 RPM, but l love them! To each there own.

Has anyone had both the Borla Stingers and the B&B Bullets? I assume the bullets are a lot louder. I've heard sound clips of the Stingers, and they sound good, but that's just a clip.

Many may have had different experiences than I had, but when I had my '00 I ran a set of B&B Route 66s on the car. Stock exhaust other than the catbacks. I had a lot of resonance/popping on deceleration that got to be very annoying. I ended up having to put an X-pipe on the car which cured about 95% or so of those issues.

Can't say how your other mods will affect the sound though.
