On the right headlight,I can't get my low beam to work.I have high beams, but no low beams.I replaced the bulb 3 times.Still--- brights but no low beam.I swapped bulbs from left side to right side.Bulb works fine.Put the bulb into the right side and it doesn't work.I have been with headlights on and off for about a month and a half.Do the headlights have a fuse for the right light and one for the left side.I know its not the bulb.It works on the opposite side.If there are 2 fuses for each headlight, where in the h**l are they located?I haven't been able to drive it at night without using the high beams.I am just about ready to trade it off,I am so pssed off. :chevy :chevy :flag :chevy :chevy
Is this relay a pull out and push in new part?I am going crazy just trying to get headlights so the car can be driven.I hope I don't have to take my car to the dealer. Thanks for the info. I'll have it checked! :chevy :chevy :flag :chevy :chevy
In many cases, the relay is underneath the box and can simply be removed after disconnecting the wire harness to that relay. There are probably maxifuses on top of that relay. It should be a piece of cake. My car is at the forum tuner, or I would go look. I hope this helps. The relay should only cost about $5-10 at AutoZone.
I found a few relays, but I didn't know which one is for the headlights.I took my car to the dealer and the tech. refused to work on my car because I changed the bulbs to after market product.I went home, reinstalled the factory bulbs and I STILL don't have any low beam headlights. The agency tried to charge me for a headlight adjustment even though the headlights don't work.I am at my wits end and I guess I am forced to drive my car only during the day. :chevy :chevy :flag :chevy :chevy
What wattage bulbs did you put in? This could explain why the relay may have failed to begin with (if that's the problem) There is no reason the dealer can't simply install a new relay for you. :mad Worst case you could put the stock bulbs back and demand that they work on it. I would surely love to help you out. But I can't just go look at my car since it's not here right now.
After much grief I reinstalled the stock headlight bulbs and the lights work just fine.I cannot explain why the bulbs would work in other cars but not in mine. The right headlight wouldn't work with after market bulbs, just the stock bulb. perhaps my car is cursed!!Thanks to all the help I received from variouspeople out here.It was greatly appreciated.
