Default 2000 Corvette w/4K Miles...

1. Didn't this model have troubles / issues with the pcv or something else Oil Retention related?

If so, can you please inform me of the issue and the proper method of repair / fix.

2. I see by Car Fax, that there was Factory Recall that the current / orig. owner never had performed... and I assume it must've been the Steering Column Lock-Out issues...

Would this still be a covered repair by GM / Chevrolet even after all of this time??

Thank You!!

I took my '98 with 195,000 miles in for the column lock recall last year. As far as I know, if it's a recall they have to honor it forever.

I would not take it to the dealer. They will tune in the 2mph fuel shutoff and it will still not fix the problem. I'd get a CLB or an LMC5 and install it and never have the recall done. If there's something I'm overlooking I'm sure someone will point out the reasoning that I'm wrong. But, that's what I'd do with my car.

I've sent an e-mail into the manufacturer of the LMC5...

requesting one of those and their CAGS fix...
Their stuff looks like it's quick, easy and it works... and certainly not over priced.

*** Anybody have any ideas on the PCV issues?

Thanks

I don't recall hearing problems about them being clogged, but they did switch to a simpler PCV setup in the later models.
