Default How do you check your grounds?

I'm have a few electrical issues and am wondering if it's a bad ground. How difficult is it to check the grounds?

Issues include:
Check Engine (related to cooling fan) can't remember the code but it has something to do with that fan not turning on

low oil level on readout (i replaced oil level sensor which only fixed issue briefly) i will have the lead cleaned up hopefully fixing it.

Turn signal switch on occasion decides not to work. i had it replaced which seemed to reduce the incidences of it not working but it still stops working for about 5-10 seconds at a time once in a while.

headlights don't like to pop up if car is already running and then i disengage the parking break.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

There is great answers to your questions on electrical issues....at the top of this tech section....its a "sticky" titled "important electrical info" and was written by Bill Curlee. Take a look.

I would start by reading Bill Curlee's post here:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...tion-long.html

Lots of good information, how-to, and pictures.

It would also be helpful if you retrieve your codes AND write them down...post them up and the rest of the forum can chime in and assist. There are several "gurus" on this forum that have an incredible amount of knowledge and experience with the electrical systems on the C5. Some screen names that immediately come to mind:
Bill Curlee
lucky131969
8VETTE7

I'm sure there are more out there, and have not purposely excluded anyone...just a few quick mentions based on reading posts and generally being around for a while...Bill in particular is a super guy and can probably help with the bulk of your problems...but the key is reading and posting your codes!

My C5 is running hot as well and has the same check engine code come on about every other time i start it.

Diagnostic Steps so far:
I replaced Maxifuse 49 which was blown.
Maxifuse 46 is still good
I replace relay 44 (Black 4 prong)
When i pulled relay 43 with car running the right (passenger side) fan stopped running.

Next i was considering replacing relay 45 (grey 4 prong)...

Additionally I replaced batter and that seemed to take care of the headlights occasionally not popping up

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply. maxifuse 49 has blown again...i don't have the tools or know-how to check and clean up all grounds at the moment. It's scheduled to be looked at Monday so i'll have them look at the grounds as well.

thanks
