Default B&M Ripper question

Installed this today without a problem. The instructions referred to screws on each side of the shifter used for adjustments in combination with the allen screws on top. My shifter does not have these screws on the side. I noticed in pictures of the Ripper on different web sites that both versions seem to be out there without any distinction being made.

Does anyone have any idea what I'm referring to? Thanks.

These are shifter stops. They're not needed on the C5 and were eliminated on later versions of the Ripper. Apparently they can't seem to get the instructions updated though. :rolleyes:

im curious. did you try to torque the bolts to factory spec of 22 pounds?

I found that one just started to want to strip at about 17 pounds.

I felt uncomfortable making it that tight as well so I stopped around 15 lbs. On one of the sites giving advice on installing the Hurst, they recommended 8-10 lbs (http://www.thx2.net/hurst.htm). At this amount of tightening, I haven't had any problems or strange noise.
