Default Trans cooler,sort of custom...

...thinking about putting 2 racing B&M super coolers in back behind the rear wheels.I was thinking of disconnecting the stock cooler(in the radiator)all together and running Aeroquip lines direct from the trans to the 2 in line coolers.I think if the trans can pump the fluids all the way to the front it should have no problem going a few feet to the rear mounted coolers. What does eveyone think.Going to start on this next week along with getting all my other stuff put on!!!!Should be done by Blomington Gold!!!!

Keep the stock cooler. That way fluid goes to the rad, cools some and flows into 2 more before going back the to the trans.

Slammed.............I was at a local speed shop yeterday getting some header wrap and heat reflective tape. My Belangers are too close to the transmissision lines so I wrapped the one header (ie collector) and put the heat reflective tape on the trans lines. While I was out the they showed me a deeper transmission pan that has 12 set of pipes that run thru the pan to aid in cooling. It's about $100 and may be my next option if my temps don't stay in an acceptable range.

Mallett mount a trans cooler where the mufflers hang, but to do that you would need Bolra's of some exhaust system that doesn't have conventional mufflers. Good Luck!

I'm not exactly sure where you're trying to mount based on your description, but it sounds like you're removing the mufflers, going to XR-1 or SLP Loudmouth, or straight pipe. If so, then check out DRM's site, they mount a tranny and a diff cooler horizontally with a fan where each muffler used to be.

Mag Red, if you get more info on that pan, could you pass it on? I'm interested in it.

Thanks
Sam

:D haha that stall getting ya huh... hmmm
deeper pan, new larger radiator (just because :D ), one large BM 24000 cooler with a electric fan on it from Jegs or Summit. That should keep you tranny cool. Also one other thing that I have noticed sometimes. My tranny temp gauge on the DIC seems a lil slow updating, intermittent, so you may want to get a lil tranny temp gauge in there, somwhere :D

Oh yeah a manual fan switch to run both the low and hi speed fans ay any time would be great. So you can flip a switch an run 'em with the car off and the key out.

I think BPP has some electric cooler in their new catalog, but I know nothing about it and it is pricey.

PS: I just saw that Extreme has a larger cap. rad. and it has cooler built in for either oil or trans. So you can run some lines to that then to the BM cooler and be all set to go.
