DIC says that I have Low Air Pressure in Left Rear Tire, but it is fine. Would that be the sensor battery out after 5 years? Seems like if the battery was dead it would report ZERO psi?
Also, is there any way to tell if the batteries are new if I buy a new set of GM sensors?
Had the exact thing happen last week. Bing bing bing, low RR tire pressure. Got out of the car, it was the LR.
8psi as well, and it was rather obvious......so was the large nail in the nearly new tire.
So, after owning my C5 for a year, I had no idea the sensors needed to be relearnd for the position they are in.
On the off chance that the sensors were not properly trained to the computer, did you check the other tires?
Looks like they may have swapped the Right and Left rear wheels last tire change? Sure enough, my Right Rear tire was down to 8-psi. This actually happened on that same tire about a year ago and it was the bead on my new Michelin A/S ZP that was leaking. They said that it was the wheel, not the tire and used some sealer around the rim to fix it which I was skeptical about at the time (I had never seen that used before).
I did try the relearn procedure just to set things right, but I guess my disk magnets still are not strong enough?
