Default MAF Trans HELP

AutoTap shows I'm running lean - LTFT show high positive number. I started out at +20 for B1 & B2 LTFT so I adjusted the MAF translator one position at a time. I am now at Base +15% and WOT 0% with LTFT on both banks at +8. Am I headed in the right direction or do I need to look at/adjust something else? The O2 readings at WOT are .98 both banks, so I'll try to bring those readings down after I get the base correct. Just want to be sure I'm doing the correct things before going any farther. I understand the objective is to get as close to 0 for the LTFT as possible. I'd would like to be little negative (rich) just to play it safe before I spray for the first time. Review my sig for a list of bolt on mods. Thanks in advance for the help.

Keep in mind, at WOT - the PCM freezes the trims to "ZERO" ... You're heading in the right direction.. also, your O2 sensors mean nothing in Power Enrichment Mode (WOT). Yes, you should be a little negative, which is safer - but you might need bigger injectors, like the FORD 30 lbs SVO's. I would get LS1EDIT, and adjust your cells/tables further. What kind of AirBox are you using and did you drive the car for your Short Term FT's at least 50 - 150 miles ?

Go one more click on the MAFT. Then drive a whole bunch before running your obd diag tool.

I would avoid any WOT runs unitl you get to tune that, since your indicating they are so rich.

Again, make sure you drive a LOT.

Your definatly going in the right direction.

I'm running a ColdPro with twin K&N filters, high flow MAF, bridge & coupling, stock intake manafold. I understand the O2 sensor readings aren't used to adjust fuel trims at WOT but I though you can still use their readings as an indication of A/F ratio and use this info to make final WOT adjustments with the translator as required. I have only driven a short distance since making the adjustments. I didn't think I would need bigger injectors until head/cam work was done. I'll consider getting the LS1Edit. What do you think about the idea above to go back to the stock MAF? Thanks for the help/ideas!!! :smash: :smash: :smash:

Your right, O2's are ignored at WOT for feedback purposes, but they are what we want to look at to determine a/f ratio for tuning purposes.

The combination of your Larger MAF, and BBK TB, may be too much for your trims to compensate. Larger injectors would definatly give you more latitude in tuning, even though you dont need them for HP, and help if your spraying dry. But again this is getting into a lot of stuff you may not want to do. LS1Edit would give you all the things said here, but requires a greater learning curve.

Thanks for quick response. I guess I'll start looking around for bigger injectors. This info does confirm I'm headed in the right direction. I will be spraying wet and by the looks of my WOT A/F ratio I should be OK. This is a never ending process, that's what makes it fun.
