Xenon HID help
Did I get the wrong cords with the kit? The instructions say to plug into the H4 plugs, but there is no H4 plug on the oem end.
Also. i managed to short out the foglighs and blow the fuse. replaced the fuse all is o.k. but now, the headlights pop up, but won't go back down except manually. I'm not sure this is related to the fuse blowing, but maybe?
Any help would be much appreciated.
thanks,
J

1. You have an H4 kit. This is the reason the connectors don't fit. That's ok, just cut the connectors off and get some old headlamps and carefully <try not to break the bulbs and stab yourself> remove the socket and soldier it onto the HID Kit... That will solve your connector issue.
2. The reason your headlamps won't go down (and won't go up unless your in HI-BEAM) is because of the way the C5 pop-up headlights are designed to operate given a certain load. The HID kit changes that load so the system wigs out. You can build a seperate wiring harness with a relay that will trip the HID's and the pop-up function. It's very simple! If LAPD doesn't get you the info you need then I'll be more than happy to draw a diagram and help you over the phone! :seeya
I would have prefered all the conectors to match out of the box, but I realized that would be a stocking nightmare. I tried to get some of the connectors so as to be able to make up some factory looking wires, but no luck. GM only has them on harness, which are expensive. Any idea if they are availble stateside?
I also installied the Piaa fogs, they are a quantum leap better then the OEM junk. Could've used the gm conectors for them too if I had some.
Now I need to aim everything, then if I can i'll try to post some pictures showing comparisions of stock vs HID.
Thanks for your help.
Thanks also to Shawn from LAPD, your response was quick and to the point.
Shawn, any chance for getting glass housing that allow us to keep the standard high beams too?
