c5 headlamp problem

c5 headlamp problem
put a new l/f headlamp motor in my c5.raised headlamps & disconnected neg. battery cable.removed assy & replaced motor & reinstalled assy.connected neg.terminal & tried lamps.
turned parklamps on & they worked but the same time headlamps rised up,did not light up just rised.switched headlamps on & they lit up
what did i do wrong!!!!!!!!!! has anyone else have this happen to them & what did i do wrong hope someone can help me with this problem . thanks in advance frank
