EBCM fixed ? Can I be so lucky

Pulled the module and managed to get it apart. It seemed to me like one of the contacts was compromised so I tried to re solder it. My solder bead really sucked but I put the module back in and started the car. I still had the code but since it was off the ramps already I drove it .....and for the next two ignition cycles the code C1214 has been cleared and the lights are off on the dash. Wish me luck !

Great, but I have an electronics industry background, you said the solder fillet sucked, clarify, if it did not wet to lead and pad it will fail again once it is thermal cycled, sorry to tell you.

I know. It might not last. I was using a cheap solder "iron" and don't think it was getting the circuit board hot enough. I least I learned if next time I need to have the relay replaced my solder skills are not up to task and I can look for some help !
