Hi All,
I am removing the headlight assembly to replace the gear in the motor. I have disconnected the harness and am trying to remove the assembly from the car, but the harness part attached to the assembly is held down to the car somehow.....I don't want to rip it out and break something. How the h3ll does it come upp, off the wheelwell fender or whatever it is held down to?

There is an expanding clip on the connector. It goes through a hole in the fender. You can access it underneath, and squeeze it with needle nose pliers...while pulling up at the same time.

Also the the harness's connector slides on and off that clip...on the back of the connector there is a little slot. It's easiest to slide the connector off the clip, then remove the clip with pliers.

In your opinion....the little slide clip is a PITA to get back on. A little more work doing it my way...but zero chance you'll break the clip.

nono, I meant slide the connector off the clip first, THEN remove the clip from the fender using pliers. When it comes time to reinstall the connector, slide the clip onto the back and then push it back into the fender.
Either way works, but I personally find it easier to get at the clip with the pliers once the connector is slid off and out of the way. I struggled with that thing for like 10 minutes the first time lol
