Default black box on passenger headlight bracket..

What is this? do i need it? i'm currently in the middle of a depo headlight install and was wondering if i need to keep this black box, it looks like it has two pigtail connectors that plug into it. thanks...

Yep, replacement will cost $200. It senses the current of your headlight motors and turns them off when the current spikes at end of travel (when headlight hits stop).

When your headlight gear strips, there is no current spike and that is why the motor continues (and grinds gear).

I think Depo headlights are still pop-ups?

Whoops, guess Depo headlights are NON pop-up, in that case you won't need the black box.
