Default Magnaflow Exhaust

Does anyone have this system on their C5??

What are the general opinions of it?

It seems to be a good system, at a fair price. How about sound clips? They claim 20+ HP increase, but I would question that, ever with their dyno numbers.

Any help is appreciated :D

HP increase? The only SOTP change from an exhaust upgrade I've had is from my FLP headers. I have the MagnaFlows because I love the exhaust note they make with headers - that's why I bought them originally. They're not as loud as some of the other *****-to-the-wall systems so I had some leeway to get louder when I added the headers and, eventually, h/c.

The construction is top-quality and the tone is a deeper bass. Sound great when you get on it. The mufflers, exit pipes and tips are mirror-polish stainless. I suggest getting the x-pipe with them if you want to minimize deceleration popping/gurgling. :yesnod:

Patches--

Thanks for the input. I think I would get the X-pipe. The system is louder than stock at idle, correct? The deep bass you mentioned, would you say it kinda rumbles? kinda throatty sounding? I really would like to hear it before I buy!

Yes, to your questions. No motorboat sound at all. A quality idle nothing like stock and a bit louder - definitely bass tone.

I couldn't get the butt high enough at home to install it myself so I took it to a local muffler shop. Nobody really noticed my car when I drove it in. When I started it to leave, everyone looked over - many wide grins. That was before the headers. It sounds better now.

Have you seen them yet? The only good/bad thing is the center tie-plate. Many don't like the "advert" look to it. I took it upon myself to cover it up. The good thing about the tie-plate is that it keeps your tips nicely aligned and shores up the catback system.

It's all a question of personal taste. See if you can hear as many systems as you can in person before deciding. Below are pics.

Y2K2C5 I agree totally with Patches. It's a great sounding and looking exhaust system.

Anyone know where a sound clip "might" be located??? The system looks awesome and sounds like it must sound TERRIFIC! But, I need to hear it. C'mon folks, someone/somewhere must have a sample clip!

100% agree with the above statement. I really like the quality, fit and finish and sound of the Magna-Flows. I also have a plate that covers the stock tie in plate, looks just like the pics provided.
I would definately get them again if I were in the market.

Had mine installed 2 weeks ago along with a Volant intake system. Did notice a performance improvement. Magnaflow is not the loudest out there, however the deep grunt and grumble is one of the best sounding systems that can be installed. The fit and finish is the best. You won't go wrong.

I really like mine. If I Bought A New ZO-6 I would put Magnaflow's on it as soon as I get it. LAPD used to have A sound Clip. Give them A E-Mail and see if they still have it. I also got the X-Pipe.
