Default Active handling warning but no C code displayed ??

New to me car, new to me problems , yay. Car in this case is an 01 Z06. Not new to cars so my first instinct was to start searching/reading through the forums as I know I"m not the first to have these issues. I've read through the various FAQ's and downloaded the AH/ABS DIY tutorial so I know what may be required. I'm going to try and clean the EBCM etc but I have an other concern with regards to the codes displayed . Battery indicates 11.8 volts cold and IIRC 14.x with a running motor, don't know how old it is but seems to be working just fine, cranks up great without hesitation.

Here's where it gets a bit odd. I've only had the car for a week now, it throws lights every time you drive it. Knowing what to expect, I pulled the codes, but what is odd (to me) is there are no C (current) codes, they are all marked H (historical) at the end. If what I'm understanding this correct (new to GM myself), an H code is something that happened a while back and is retained in memory while a C code is something that has been triggered very recently and indicates a current issue.

For example: Yesterday I went out for a drive and the dash displayed
- service active handling
- service ABS

The AH came on 4-5 times, while the ABS light came on once, along with an AH code. Every time I stopped the car, turned key off/on and kept going. Again, when I reviewed the codes they all had an H at the end and not a C.

My next step in troubleshooting: I've just reset/deleted all the H codes on the display, I'll take the car out again and wait for the next trouble light to trigger a code and if it shows up as a C or an H on the display.

Any idea why there are no C codes for these events ?

Ah, did not know I can pull codes on a running motor or that codes with change from C to H when you shut off the motor. None of the FAQ's mention this. Yes, the past codes are always usefull as they were a past problem that may be intermittant, not necessarily fixed I understand that one. Ok well that's the next step, now that its all cleared I'll drive it again , wait for codes to appear and pull them on a running motor. Great tip
