Default New seats question

I just got a sweet deal on a new set of Sparco Srinter V seats. I ordered a bracket, slider, and bolt kit for the drivers side. (I only plan to use one seat on race days and will probably sell the other.) I already have a Sparco harness bar and 5 point harness installed.

I am wondering what kind of problems come up when removing the factory seats. An SRS light? Seat belt light? Is there anything I need to worry about, or can I install the seats and be fine?

When I installed my Corbeau's I transfered the electronics module (and stock seat belt receptacle) from the stock seat to the new one.
Airbag, seatbelt and Easy-access (steering wheel only) continue to work. Seat positioning obviously does not.

[Rant On]There is one thing that pisses me off about aftermarket seats. NO ONE making these seats every measures or correctly reproduces the same seat height measured from seat mounts to the top-side of the seat bottom. Most people lose an inch or two of headroom with new seats.

Is that the big square unit that says relay on it? Its above all the mechanical parts. It has several large connectors hooked to it.

What do you do, just plug the connectors from the floor back into their place and make the car think everything is still there? How does the sensor that tells whether or not a person sitting in the seat react? I think I will have to leave the stock seat belt in and buckled when I use the harness to turn off the seat belt light right?

I just made a small jumper wire and connected it to the seat belt circuit making the car think the belts were in place. Been that way for about 2 years now.

The big square box is the SCM (seat control module). I removed it and the wire harness (w/connectors) and plugged them back into the two floor board connectors. The seat belt electrical connection is not accomplished by "weight in the seat". The circuit is completed by buckling the belt. Seat belt receptacle has a connector on it that completes the ground circuit when buckled.

Cool, sounds easy enough. Just make all the electrical stuff disappear under the new seat and everything will be fine and look good.

I didn't have to do that on my 98 when I installed the A4's. No memory seat stuff. I just unplugged everything and stuffed it under the carpeting. Works fine.

Nothing acts up? Do you use the stock seat belt? I will leave it in and maybe buckle it running behind the seat if I need to when Im using the harness.
I have just always heard that if the seat belt light is on, or the sensor that can tell whether or not a person is sitting in the seat is not there, these things will not allow the air bags to deploy if they are not reading fine.
I could be totally wrong on this though.

I think the car assumes that if you're going 60MPH there is someone in the drivers seat.

I used the stock belts and no lights. I think if you have memory seats it's a little different.

Of course, but some cars will not deploy the air bag if the seat belt is not buckled or some other scenarios because the air bag can just as well kill you.
Doesn't sound like its a problem in these cars though.
