I just bought my first corvette recently and was interested in putting on aftermarket exhaust possibly. Its a 2001 C5 coupe with automatic transmission. Right now it has corsa pacecar exhaust with tigershark tips on it with corsa x pipe. I was wondering if this setup is recognized as one of the more popular/nicer setups for the C5? I kinda would like a deeper throatier sound if that makes sense so I was looking into Borla or SLP loudmouth systems. Any opinions for C5 owners would be appreciated
Congrats on the new car---talking about exhaust is like asking if something tastes good---everyone has their own opinion---so best is to listen to other people's stuff and see what you like best---- Be prepared to pay the "Corvette Tax" of most aftermarket exhaust--
Same piece for a camaro is $450 but because it's for a Corvette it's $1200---LOL
You can tell by looking at an exhaust if its meant to be quiet or loud. Most brands offer a system with full size mufflers, small size like in the pics above, or straight with no mufflers and maybe a resonator.
The ones shown will be like the Borla stingers and the like. They are meant to be loud and hold down the drone. Thats what you pay for in a good system. Anything with full size mufflers will be on the quiet side.
I like the sound of both Corsa and GHL but since you already have a Corsa system why not invest in LTs if you don't already have them. You can get a set of LTs for about what it would cost to buy a new catback system. JMO.

I prefer the straight pipe sound
YES I have 3" cat back custom fabricated at the local muffler shop with NO mufflers--straight over the top of the axle-STOCK cats---
This gives the car more of a rasphy race car sound and not the low flowmaster rumble that we've all have grown accustomed to--To me I'm so tired of that- When cruising not overly annoying--
If I were to do it gain i would use 2 1/2" as 3" is a tight fit---
Best of all---saves apprx 80 lbs of weight and only cost me $125 !!!
