Strange Code.... need help

A co-worker asked me today if I knew what a QC code 424441 meant on the DIC. When it appears, you can not do anything on the DIC until you turn the car off and restart it. After you drive a few mile it pops back up again. I have never seen this and hope I don't. Anyone know what may be causing the error.

I guess everyone is stumped as well. A new message to me also, so I think its time for him to see the dealership.

Maybe the display itself is going bad - putting up random crap.

what car year/make/model?

and usually there is a letter infront of it, also it is usually only 1 letter and 4 didgets

Example: C0153, B1569, P0420

Are you sure he is reading the code right? I don't' think this is a valid code.

A couple of years ago while I was trying to program my remote, code QC 324131 came up on the display. Never did find out what it meant and forgot about it.

It's a 97 coupe. Because these didn't look like normal codes is what is so confusing. He said there were no letters in front and is 5 digits. When this appears, you can't view anything else.
