I replaced the battery with an 850 cold cranking amp brand new battery. Then the column lock code!!! I tied to reset it by disconnecting the battery but it still is not working! the defect has been repaired by the dealership for the previous owner.. What do i do now!!! this is my daily driver!
Manual. The wheel will physically turn but the DIC shows "column locked" with the key in the ignition. I do not know if the wheel will physically turn with the key out of the ignition.
I believe the key was in the ignition when the battery was changed which may have contributed to the relay.
I take it youve got extensive experience with this issue. In preparation for the install i pulled the ecm and saw a spliced purple wire with different elec tape. Figured that was the recall fix. The ecm is also making a loud click as its trying to engage the physical lock i believe. Sounds like i have a ring prohibiting the engagement of the pin. Ill let you know next week when i get the bypass in and lay down some rubber. Cant wait, shifter alignment and tranny fluid went in tonight too
