Drag radials by nature are DOT cert'f (Street legal). Why else would you have a "radial?" Certainly don't need tread for the dragstrip.
A drag radial can be thought of as a street legal slick... Though, they aren't like slicks at all. More like a really SOFT rubber compound tire with tread - They will help you put enormous amounts of horsepower to the ground without spinning!
