I am about to order the 1 3/4 super pros with the catted x-pipe. Does anybody want to talk me out of them for a different header. I know they all make with in 5hp of each other, there is so many kinds. What about fitment, longevity and exhaust leaks?
thanks
I did mine too first time my self went k , u just have to play with it u can't force them, the Only thing I had to modify is to make new bracket that mounts to the bell housing (had to loosen the starter too) what I also did I bought some hi heat tape from advance auto p. and wrapped all the wiring on the starter and some other wires that seemed like they be close to the headers ... And remember u DO have to lift the car up at least 16" to get them fit good luck ! You like them !
You should not leave the headers bolted to the bell housing as it has a tendency to crack the headers. Also I dont even remember brackets being there to bolt up to the bell housing on mine. I would suggest on getting some grade 8 nuts and bolts to use for the clamps so you can put enough torque on them to keep from leaking.

If anything we should talk you into buying them.
The band clamps that come with them are all you need. You will not have any issues getting them tight enough.
As one poster said, I also don't remember using a clamp at the bell housing where the stock system bolts up. IIRC, only the LG street series retains this clamp not the pro series.

I stripped out the bolts that came on the clamps fairly easy as they were just cheap ungraded bolts. I went out and bought some grade 8 bolts to fix that problem.
