Hi, I'm a new owner and member. I would like to lower my c5 is there any useful hints or techniques

Check the FAQS section, there are a few good sources on how to properly lower the car.

Just remember that you're dealing with several yeaar old nuts and bolts that might be pretty well stuck together due to age. Go carefully and use lots of lubricant on the threads.
