Talk about a royal pain. Horrible design. Why not just thread those holes like most cars. For those of you who dont know what im talking about, our cars(and a lot of GM) use 2 special J hooks that goes behind the steering wheel rather than two bolts that thread. I bought the kit from NAPA and both hooks broke. I am installing a MOMO jet steering wheel as I am tired of the bulky factory one. Yes, i will miss the airbag, but my seatbelt should do me fine until I put in some new seats/harnesses. Tomorrow i will attempt to return the steering wheel puller kit and get another one and try it again. Ill try to tap the hooks with a hammer this time to make sure they are seated all the way in with every turn. Other than this, does anyone have any tips? I've searched and searched but it seems as if its very common.

The reason is splines cannot loosen in the direction of wheel rotation. Even a lefthand thread would still be a technical problem. It is for your safety. Unfortunately, the splines don't let go in the perpendicular direction either.
Drum Roll: GOT IT! tapped out some holes(more than 2 due to wrong size), torqued the hell out of the puller-and whacked with a hammer. Finally came off. 'Twas no joke. Aluminum shavings everywhere, but nothing a vacuum cant fix. Ill post pics tonight/tomorrow morn. THANKS FOR THE IDEA GUYS.
