Clutch or trans issue?
A few things I need help diagnosing. When letting the clutch out in first gear, it feels like its slipping or something. Hard to explain. A hesitation maybe? Its near impossible to accelerate from a stop smoothly, as the car feels slightly jerky. This could be a problem of its own or in relation to the next issue. At WOT when shifting gears the car doesn't want to accelerate immediately following a gear change. For example, a shift from 2nd to 3rd, just before redline and once the car is in third and the clutch is out, the car takes 1-2 seconds to get moving again. It just stays at 4xxx rpm or whatever it is like the tires are spinning or something, then it catches and we are on our way again. But in high gear at low rpm the clutch doesn't slip either...just accelerates away. I do the ranger method of fluid cleaning every 3-5k as well. Is it time for a new clutch? btw the car is a 99 with 70k and bolt ons.
