If you have an EMT repaired (typical nail puncture) and its done properly (Goodyear, trained personnel, yada, yada) What happens to the speed rating of the tire?
Is it still safe to drive at very high speed or close to the max rating of the tire? Does Goodyear recommend a max speed after repairing?
If your tire pressure senders are working. I would feel safe up to a hundred or so. But to answer your question, the tire does lose it speed rating according to GY and GM stuff I saw in print. Remember, if you lose air, the tire will stay up due to the side wall so you would retain control, at least at first and with the TPS screaming flat, you would just come to a say stop. :seeya
Suggest you ask the Goodyear repair tech...then get in writing if he says "you bet, go for it, the tire is good as new".
No matter the speed rating of a tire, there is no guarantee it will hold up to high speed runs...there is always a risk and I would advise an even greater risk if the tire has been repaired. :smash:
