Re: How many hours typical for cam install? (Andy@AandACorvette)
Andy;
you seem to be the forum member with the most experience ripping bump sticks out of the LS1/6 motor!! (well, between you and Shirl Dickey-MrEraser). How many is it now?!?! Anyway, perhaps you could share some of your shortcuts with the rest of us. Things such as how the get the radiator, condenser out of the way, dropping or not dropping the steering rack, etc. I have been quoted a ton of hours by the dealer to do the cam. When i hear some of you are doing it in 3 hrs, makes me wonder what the hell the dealer is talking about.

I was there man. I watched Andy do the cam swap in my car, the biggest problem was the piece of crap pulley puller that I bought from Pep Boys! It stripped..still got it done in around 4 hours.

The dealer will always quote you and charge you book time. If they complete the job in half the time, they can still get away with charging you the book. Dealers are rip offs to do mods unless they speacialize in it which very few dealers do.
