Default PCM Tuning Software

Most people on here talk about hp tuners and the predator and other software to modify pcm parameters or edit out codes that's pretty pricy.

Is there any low cost software that allows you to edit out codes or control engine fan temps on and off or shift controls and spark advance?

I read a little about ProScan and PcmScan but i'm not sure if anyone had tried it and actually gotten any results for the money they cost.

Most all handheld programmers are very limited on what they can do--On a stockish bolt on type eng ( no cam/hds hdrs) they will work fine --but with the mods i listed mods you need some specific tuning that only HP or EFILIVE offers---As far as hendhelds go the Diablo seems to cover the most paramters--

Im more interesting in laptop based software that connects to the obd2 via blue tooth or usb connection.

all the handhelds are pretty useless the onboard diagnosis on the c5 does the samething.

EFI live V2 is a laptop based software that connects yo your vehicle via usb or serial. Very good program. Ive got it for my duramax and all of my cars have been tuned with it.

I don't know of any better option than HPtuners. We sell the standard version for $500 shipped, and it can be packaged with other tuning supplies like wideband O2 sensors/gauges to get further discounts.

The best way to save money is realized in that the HPtuners comes with enough credits to tune 4 cars. you can go in with friends or associates that also need the product to decrease your overall cost.

When I bought my software I researched HP--EFILIVE and LS1 Edit--I chose EFILIVE based on several reasons---although it was more expensive
As a newbie tuner you are gonana get stuck and frustrated--It is really overwhelming at 1st
so to me the most important thing is the customer support to help you through those issues----Choose a company that you felt comfortable talking to on the phone--
Many times these computer nerds will be impatient and talk down to you and make you feel stupid---You''l never learn antyhing---
EFILIVE licensing is simple and not complicated
screen graphics and tables are easier to read
All tables give brief discriptions of what the tables do
They mark some tables as "do not touch"
If you purchase it direct from them you will have to email the company for support
HOWEVER if you buy it from one of their US dealers (prices all the same) you can get 7 day support on the PHONE
They offer FREE training for their comercial versions
They offer EFILIVE University for education dates around the US
I bought mine from Jesse Bubb at "Wair-4-Me Performance" and never regretted it
He is brilliantand easy to talk to--never talks down to newbies and always availiable
My 2 cents---
