Just got my first C5, 1998, a couple weeks ago. This morning I walked out in the garage and there was a noise that sounded like a telephone ringing. It seemed to be coming from the rear area of the car. It rang like that 8 or 10 times and then stopped. Anybody have any idea of what that might be. Sure hope it wasn't the sel-destruct!
Any chance the previous owner lost thier cell phone? Check the rear compartments, under the seat, and between the seat and seat belt buckle next to the console.
Thats really weird. Ya check around for a phone. or.... a self destruct mechanism
The only thing in the rear I can think of the would make anything remotely phone sounding (depending on the actual sound) is a failing fuel pump working very hard to prime. But I don't think it would do this without the key turned to the on position. Probably not the case, but a possibility...
I checked and there wasn't a cell phone laying back there. I did find it has a 12 disc CD changer in the back. Don't know if that had anything to do with it or not. One of life's little mysteries, I guess.
