Good luck getting it unstuck. I had it happen to me and I ended up breaking the latch. Thankfully I had an extra one from a project I was doing.

The Pawl ( the center piece is made of glass filled nylon ) the action is just a pivot pin a spring and a small ball... you can really put alot of pressure on the pawl , its bullet proof... the housing is not as rugged. if you can grab the top of the pawl and hold the housing in your hand, you can get it to snap up. Dont be afriad of the action, its tougher than you might think.. the housing is not that forgiving.
