My $5 headlight fix...
"Fixed" my non pop up headlight with $5 for can of contact cleaner and 5 minn of labor!
It's worth a try before going any further unless you know for sure your gear is shot.
On my 2002 Z06 with 70,000+ miles my driver head light would not come up sometimes. the light would come on but not pop up. I would try the switch over and over while "taping" on the cover or "taping" the motor. it eventually would come on. before gear replacement I thought I'd try taking the connector apart and spray contact cleaner in each end and TA-DA IT WORKED! I did this over 6 months ago and it works every day 100% of the time.
