Anybody ever use or currently use SpinTech mufflers?
They are offered in SS and their advertising makes them sound good.
Seems to me that for 300 bucks, I can add cooler sounding mufflers to the already SS vette pipes and make myself a pretty cool cat-back.
Of course, a good salesman/marketer can sell ice to the eskimos, and maybe they are just full of hype.................
but then that's why I am asking this question
I was going to get the Spin Tech, but got the Daytona's, I did some research on the Spin Tech and got nothing but good things to say. The SpinTech was used and raced on a C5 and the guy who drove it said he felt the HP difference and love the way it opened up at WOT!!!
Wish I could of heard it to make my mine up, I checked on the price for a C5 all stainless steel about $1200.00, non-stainless $800.00 big difference in price. I just loved the daytona look though that is why I went with it.
Well, they don't make a bolt on cat-back per se, but with some help from a welder, the stock over the axle SS pipes could be welded onto a couple of these mufflers.
This would be a custom job, but that doesn't really bother me.
I simply cannot justify spending 600 plus dollars on an exhaust system.
At one point I bought a Bassani cat back SS system for a Mustang I had, and it cost me 500 bucks. IT had the same qualities that the C5 system has, and was built very well. Had all SS hardware, 2 mufflers, over the axle pipes, everything.
And the price difference?? Can someone explain that to me??
I just don't buy the "Corvette stuff costs more, because it's a Corvette".
All you guys out there paying these horrendous prices for this stuff are doing nothing but supporting the already over-priced system!!
I, for one, will not support the gouging that I believe is going on.
Just my 02........
