Re: Who has a Line-Lock????????????? (Mean Green 2000)
Al....you mentioned needing a couple of short brake lines...can you give details on the specs and if they're also available from Summit?
The brake lines and the solenoid were supplied by Cartek. One brake line that was supplied by Cartek had the wrong fitting. I had to take that line to Earl's Performance Products and put on the proper fitting. The supplied brake lines were pre formed and cut to the proper length. I guess that what I paid the extra money for. :) The Summit sells a brake line package but, I have no idea if the fitting will fit the C5. I have heard of people taking the original end fitting and having them installed on brake lines purchased at Pep Boys.
The hardest part for me was getting the wire thru the firewall to connect to the solenoid.
I was at the track last weekend for VetteMagic. Was hoping for a new personal best with the 3.73s and new tranny, NOPE. I was .2 secs off my best time and my launch sucks. I guess I will need some kind of track tires to improve my 60' time (or more practice). Oh well... :D
Re: Who has a Line-Lock????????????? (K&B Motorsports)
bruce1,
Are you using the line lock to launch, or just for the burnout? If for launch, how are you using it?
I just use the line lock to clean off and heat up the tires, to make them real sticky.............then I nail it....brake torque it to about 3000 rpm.... I let the MMS 10 second cam do the rest...hahahaha :D :D
:D :D :D :D
Guys, just installed one in my '98, works great , no codes etc. Forget the install kit from Summit as it doesn't fit the C5. I bought it and had to go to a local store to get the fittings and lines I needed.

can you elaborate on the lines and fittings....I'm trying to get the stuff I need before starting the project, I already know I need a "double flairing" tool" but itd be nice to know the size and length of the line(s) as well as the size of the fittings :D

Hey Mark.........you first. I'm sure if you do this like all your other projects, there will be lots of pics of the install and a blow by blow account. :D
