I recently noticed my 2001 A&A supercharged stock 80K mile LS-1 idle is ruff and when the throttle is applied I see smoke in the mirrors , mostly from the left exhuast. good oil psi. and temp maintains aroun 185 deg.
Car still has plenty of power and it seams to smooth out starting at 1,200 rpm . It will also idle at about 1,500 for about 4to5 seconds then come down to 600 rpm. this all happened after a spirited run at 10 P.S.I. of boost. No smoke at idle. I also noticed that sometimes I have oil on the garage floor next to the l/h front tire . cant seem to find where its comming from . it will go days without leaking then all the sudden oil on the floor. any suggestions?
Chipped valve, partially blown head gasket, failed valve spring... there's a number of possible issues. If the leak is new and related to the issue, probably head gasket. Under pressure it may be enough to blow by the gasket.
