Default Window Regulator Adjustment

After replacing the passenger side window regulator, no matter how I adjust the window it rubs on the small white bumper next to a pulley located on the top cable closest to the top of the door. It only rubs on the last 3" of the window, but rubs hard enough to leave a mark along the tint. The further I adjust it out to get better clearance the more the motor seems to drag. All other aspects seem fine as far as the height and left to right. Will the interior door panel hold it off that last little bit? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Search the forum for my post on "window regulator replacement" (with photos) for detailed instructions...but the executive summary is that there are three ways to adjust the window:
1. The brackets that hold the glass to the regulator, these will adjust up/down, left/right and tilt (i.e. raise or lower the front versus back)
2. The small "reverse torx" adjusting screws on the regulator track. These can be accessed thru the holes on the bottom of the door. These will adjust up/down and tilt.
3. The mounting screws for the regulator. These will adjust the tilt 90 out of plane (i.e. toward or away from the drivers shoulder)

The thing to do to really get it right is to remove the door panel, rain covers and access covers and make your course adjustments. Drive the car and check the wind noise. Spray it with a garden hose and check for leaks. Adjust as req'd. Drive it some more before putting the door panel back on to make sure you got it right.

Thanks for the response. I did manage to get it adjusted this morning. Your information is spot on. Driving and checking for the wind noise helped tune the final adjustments . There was no adjustment for my issue. I just kept playing around with the regulator until it moved just enough to allow the window to clear the cable.

I'm having the exact issue now and it's driving me crazy. I've installed the new regulator but can't get rid of a roller mark on the back section of the driver's door.
