EDIT:: Issue fixed:: The small terminal is broken inside the solenoid causing the intermittent issue::
I just installed a new motor in my car and the starter won't spin. I used a meter to verify 12v ground on the case, then check for singal input to spin the starter from the purple wire and it's not there.
The security light isn't blinking, and all fuses are good (checked with a meter).
The block was painted, but I sanded all surfaces where the grounds connect the block, and had a buddy verify they were all hooked up when we installed the engine. I disconnected the purple wire and jumpered that lug to the 12V+ lug to ensure the solenoid is good.
