Default Need help with "Service Active Handlling"

I have a 04 C5 that the front end seems to grab wheather I am going 35 or 70 mph. When it does this the Service active handling light comes on. I took it several months ago to a shop and they told me it was my front brake pads and broken down brake fluid. I had them to fix what they told me it was but that has not seemed to help. I have retrieved the codes and nothing shows up there. I need some suggestions before I take it back to the shop....I am a widow of a few months and don't want to be taken for a ride cause I am a girl !!!! All help would be appreciated...Thanks

If the light is on, you have codes. Pull the codes when the light comes on.

You need to find a different shop. They are either incompetent or just plain taking advantage of you. Where are you located and maybe someone can make some suggestions.
Your description of the problem sounds like it MAY be the steering wheel position sensor. Someone who knows Vettes can sort this out for you.

To those who have answered I "Thank You"... I do show codes in the DIC but all of them have been H codes. I will try to pull them next time before shutting off car. It seems like it does it all the time now. The other day I was going 70 mph when it done it and it scared me. I can not have it doing this. Reply to BigGun, I live in Tulsa, Oklahoma area.

The C1287/1288 are the swps. My 04 did the same thing last year. The part cost about $65.00 at www.gmpartshouse.com and takes 2.5 to 3 hours to change out. The GM part # is 88965543 it cost $63.83.

Since you are not a car person and new to the forum.

SWPS = Steering Wheel Position Sensor
