Default Auto window up for a Convertible

I have a 98 Vert. that I just got a few weeks ago and the Drivers side top corner (rear top of window/top) is showing wear from the window smashing it when all the way up as the door is closed. Ive talked to a few people and cant really get an answer if this car has the option that rolls the windows up that extra inch or so after the doors are closed to keep this from happening. Ive looked through the owners manual but didnt really see anything covering this issue. I wouldnt think it would be a bad fuse because the previous owner (original owner) took meticulous care of the car. I just dont know if Im doing something wrong or I should leave the windows down just a tad when putting the car in the garage.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have a 99 and there is no option like that, and really have never heard of that as an option. I think you do want the windows snug to stop from leaks. I usually keep my window slighty down when garaged thinking it would be better for the weatherstripping in the long run. It sounds like you need to adjust the window angle and height so it wont hit the top corner. Mine did that when I got it and I did an adjustment so its ok now. If you are going to do this yourself do a search, not a hard thing to do.Its easiest if you take the door panel off so you can see what you are doing. Good luck.

There is an adjustment for that with pictures. I'll see if I can find it and post a link.

Here you go: Read down and look at the pictures of how the window should clear the edge of the top when the door is opened or closed. Once you get it adjusted it will also seal better and cut down wind and water leaks because it will sit against the rubber trim tighter.
