BOTH my rears wore more on the inside. fronts look fine, I am gettin 2 new rears put on friday and also an alignmnet so they wear evenly. My question is should I get it aligned first so that they can see how the tires wore and perhaps correct the situation ? or jsut toss the rears on tehn get it aligned within teh next week. (I am most likley gettin the alignment at a diff place from where I will be mounting the tires)

This is just my opinion, and is based on information that may be out of date: I think that your alignment should be done with the new tires on. At least, that's what we'd do way back when. The reason? The car sits differently on the old, wornout tires than on the new ones.
Someone with more up-to-date info please step up and dope slap me if I'm living in La-la Land on this.

MAkes sense to me car will be sitting fine and then he can just dial it in to the proper specs, i can simply say they wore more in teh inside but now that I think about it, it shouldn't matter they should just be set properly and that should aleviate the problem and I am hoping give me better launches too :D
Re: align before or after new tires ? (lostsoulny)
I would get the alignment after the tires are installed but be sure to show or tell the alignment shop about the rear tire wear pattern so they can be sure to look for the problem. :seeya
Re: align before or after new tires ? (lostsoulny)
If it's convenient so you can do this, take the car to the alignment tech and have him look at the old tires while they are on the car. Then mount the new tires and have the alignment done. This way, if the alignment tech is any good, he will have an idea of what you want him is to correct. Some alignment tech's only know how to set your car to specs, but don't know how to change your current alignment to correct for a particular wear problem, so it's going to depend on how good the alignment tech is.
Re: align before or after new tires ? (lostsoulny)
Like most have already stated.. try to get the car with the old worn tires to your alignment tech, let him see what he needs to correct in terms of tire wear. Then get the new tires on the car, get it to the alignment shop ASAP.. repeat ASAP before the tires can begin another abnormal wear pattern. My guess is the initial alignment checkwill probably show too much neg camber for your car. Did you ever have it (camber) changed in the past to increase cornering ability? Lots of Negative camber will improve cornering by keeping the tire flatter to the pavement, that's the idea behind the increased Negative camber on the ZO6 FE4 setup. But it will also cause an increase wear pattern of the inside of the tires when driven on the street everyday. Especially if we are talking about the rigid sidewall EMTs, they don't flex nearly as much as the sidewall of the F1 Supercar tire.
