Default tail light and headlight issues

I went to install a set of LED Halo tail lights and when I got the lights the part that plugs in to the stock buld socket had been cut off for some reason. I spliced in a 3157 male adapter and went to install the lights. I think I installed the adapter backwards in the socket intially. Now my tail lights do not work. None of the tail lights or the rear side signal lights work when turning on the parking lights. The brake lights and the turn signals work fine. Also my headlights turn on and off however they will not retract any longer. Everything worked fine a minute or 2 earlier. I assume I shorted something or something like that. Also the headlights work but will not retract anylonger. I only installed one LED light to test. The stock lights are still in the other 3 tail light spots, and they do not work anylonger either.

What did I do and how do I fix it. The fuses for the headlight motors are still intact.

Thanks for any input.

Check fuse #6 in the footwell fuse box in passenger footwell. It is for the park/tail lights. You probably blew it while installing the new light.

Try a different light. That will tell you whether it is in the light or the wiring.Easiest and fastest way to start troubleshooting your issue.

Just confirming here that 85mm is used for the taillights - right? If so, does anyone have an updated link with ones they purchased that are holding up well?

I found these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-Angel-Ey...8AAOSw71Be3u27

my apologies - my reply was meant for a post in the C3 section, not the C5 - not sure what happened here. Admin can remove if wanted.
