A4 filter ??
Which filter is used with the stock pan? (2001 coupe) I see they are listing both a shallow sump & deep sump. Was that an option? It seems like the last time I looked at it the pan was not flat on the bottom like most autos I've worked with.
I checked the local parts store sites as well as gmpartsdirect.com and gmpartshouse.com Just not sure what to get.

I never heard of an option for deep or shallow sump but I'm certainly no expert. I use the filter kit from NAPA because it comes with a neoprene pan gasket instead of cork.

If your pan has the bubble depression on the bottom, it's called a deep pan. Most C5's have it, although some of the early C5's may not, which is why two different filters are listed.
The deep pan filter will have a longer pick-up tube, which will fit inside the pan's depression bubble when installed.
