Surprisingly it doesn't, I've even de-screened the waffle cone screen from my MAF and no codes. This intake along with a Borla straight pipe exhaust made my trap go from 109 to 112 mph in the 1/4.

Ive heard several members on here say the twin cone filters create turbulence and rob performance, but I dont see it as an issue. Its an air inlet either way. Id say there are more issues along the intake that outweigh anything negative that the cone filters could do.
