Question for those with TransGo Shift Kit in A4
Going to get tranny filter & fluid in my 01 coupe (97k miles) next week. Also have a Transgo Shift Kit for it, too (not the reprogramming kit, just the shift kit). I also have shift solenoids and epc solenoid for it, too.
My mechanic was a little leery about drilling on the valve body for the shift kit, but instructions are clear and this is a shift kit that has been on the market for a while so I'm good with that. He has installed shift kits before, just not this transgo.
But I was wanting to get input from those who have installed this kit. Pros/cons, like it/not, etc. My car is not a daily driver. I do want it to still be streetable.
Thanks

Don't have any experience with the kit on a C5, but I did have it on a Trans-Am I used to run at Sebring. Tranny worked fine with the kit installed and it got some pretty rough treatment.

A good question to post here where the experts are:

If you have an LS1, you should join here anyway.
FWIW, the C5 4L60 is identical internally to all of the 4L60 used in cars and trucks. And from my reading, the TG kit is the best one. Most of the major trans guys use it with thier own tweaks.
When using one, you don't muck with the line pressure tuning.
Now, others are going to say you don't need a shift kit, you can just retune the PCM. Which is great if you know someone who is an expert at that.
And lastly, re-tuning the shift points etc is fine, and can really change the personality of the car.
Are you adding a converter too?
